I originally made the Sunset Turtle as a stash buster baby blanket. This became a CAL on my facebook group and due to popular demand, this is the full size version of the blanket - Sunrise Turtle Blanket, with a family of turtles swimming into the horizon.

I fell in love with the colours Grape, Lavender, Aspen, Parma Violet, and Pale Rose all on a background of white. I love the beauty and majesty of Sea Turtles and therefore once the idea of this blanket came into my head I couldn’t stop until I finished the design.

This blanket is approximately 200cm x 180cm

This uses 10 balls of the background colours and two balls of the five pattern colours in Stylecraft Special DK. (There are also notes of how to extend the blanket to a King Size bedspread)

As a part of the process of writing up my pattern I spent some time researching Sea Turtles, their habitat and what can be done to help these creatures, many species of which are endangered. After reading about the dangers they face from both natural and human sources, I knew I wanted to contribute to their conservation in some way. By purchasing the Sunset pattern I donated 10% of the income that I made over the first 2 months of the release to the Sea Turtle Conservancy (so that will be £0.50GBP per full price pattern sold during this time) I am extending this to the Sunrise Turtle Blanket with 10% any patterns sold for the remainder of July 2019 going to the Sea Turtle Conservancy.

For tips and tricks on how to make this blanket you can go to my facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1815138551873821/

Please note that this blanket was created as a computerised design and therefore there are currently no fully completed versions of this blanket available to view. See https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sunset-turtle-bl... for the original baby blanket for projects with various colours for an idea of how this could turn out.

I truly hope you enjoy this creation as much as I have enjoyed designing it!
