Sunshine Charlotte Blanket 3
2018 Sunshine Charlotte CAL

The 2017 Sunshine Charlotte Blanket once again pays tribute to my beautiful daughter Charlotte, who died in July 2015. This business began with the first Sunshine Charlotte blanket (get it HERE), and now it continues with an annual update.

This pattern is a beginner-level intarsia crochet pattern. The pattern includes a link to an online chart AND written, color-coded instructions. Video tutorials are included for intarsia and surface crochet. While these techniques aren’t always common, they are very easy to pick up, so I’ve still ranked this pattern at an EASY level.

I worked the pattern in Red Heart With Love yarn, which is nice and thick. It softens up when it washes, so even this single crochet fabric ends up with a nice drape.

The Sunshine Charlotte Baby Blanket is the September installment of the 2018 Sunshine Charlotte Crochet ALong, which features a different baby blanket pattern each month. This year’s CAL projects are meant to be donated to crochet charities. I’m featuring a different charity each month on my blog, but you can also donate to the charity of your choice. I design and donate these baby blankets in memory of my daughter Charlotte, who died of brain cancer in July 2015.
