I think that sometimes knitting can make you feel like a superhero. End the repeat at the right marker, conquer a difficult pattern, learn a new skill—knitting can feel like a superpower! The gaps in this fabric remind me of superhero masks and provide lots of opportunity for relaxing knitting while adding in some funky fun.

The pattern can be knit in 1, 2, 3 (or more!) colors. The pattern is written for three colors. If you choose to knit this shawl in two colors, please treat CC1 and CC2 as the same color in the directions and yardage requirements.

Finished Size: approximately 72” wide x 19” deep (183 x 48 cm) after blocking.

Materials:
• Sport weight yarn—approximately 880 yds, 804 m total
As shown, Malabrigo Arroyo—MC Prussia Blue (650 yds/594 m), CC1 Azules (90 yds/82 m), and CC2 Aguas (140 yds/128 m)
• US Size 5 (3.75 mm) 40” (101 cm) or longer circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• Tapestry needle

Gauge: 21.5 sts = 4” (10 cm) in garter stitch before blocking, 20 sts and 20 rows = 4” (10 cm) after wet blocking the swatch (no pinning involved). The gauge on the blocked shawl varies from 14-18 sts in 4” (10 cm) depending upon where you measure.

Note: This shawl may be worked with lighter or heavier weight yarns. If you change the yarn weight, make sure that you choose a needle size that gives you the drape you desire in the fabric. Yardage requirements will change based on yarn weight and gauge.
