Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!

  • No Code – Full Price = $15.00 CAD
  • PK10 – 10% off = $13.50 CAD
  • PK20 – 20% off = $12.00 CAD
  • PK30 – 30% off = $10.50 CAD

I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.

The Sweater of Dreams is a lovely cropped, boxy sweater design, with a V front and back, and a little bit of detailing along the center front and back of the sweater. It is knit in two rectangle panels with provisional cast on/bind off and i-cord edging. The panels are seamed together along the front/back/sides at the height you want to create a deep or shallow V. All the cast on and bind off stitches are picked up again and a ribbed hem is knit in the round. Stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves, and knit in the round with a gradual decrease and I-cord cuff. It is a size inclusive design, written in a format where you will be able to customize your sweater to fit your desired measurements.

Sizes offered:
This pattern is designed in a format so that you can customize the measurements to fit your desired size/shape. I have included formulas for calculating the width and length of the panels based on your desired fit/measurements.

Needles recommended:
4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7

  • May need other size needles to meet gauge
  • I recommend using a set of interchangeable needles, or a pair of circulars that match the circumference of the hem of the tee. You can use straight needles for the panels, but will need circulars for the hem.

Gauge:
4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) = 18 sts x 24 rows (stockinette, worked flat, blocked)
1” x 1” (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm) = 4.5 sts x 6 rows
make sure to complete a gauge swatch and adjust needle size if needed!
Note: if your stitch count is correct for gauge but row count is a tiny bit off, continue using this needle size, but keep in mind you will need to adjust the formula to determine length/row counts.

Yarn recommended:
Option 1 - Fingering weight held together with Suri (or another lace weight)
I used Treehouse Knits Cashmere Elm Sock ( 383 yds/100g) and Suri Ash Lace (437 yds/50g) held together for my sample.

Option 2 - DK weight held single
I recommend Treehouse Knits Cashmere Elm DK or Dove DK!

Yardage recommended:
Since this is a create your own sizing format, I don’t have a specific estimate of yardage for each possible size. I have provided some rough yardage estimates below as a guide for purchasing yarn ahead of time. These yardage calculations are based on the listed Finished Chest Circumference, a length of 20” from shoulder to bottom hem, and sleeves ranging from ~14-17” from drop shoulder to cuff. Tester yardages were fairly consistent with the estimates below, with some variation depending on ease and length preferences. If you’d like me to help you calculate estimated yardage before you purchase, feel free to message me through Ravelry, Instagram: @perfectlyknotted, or by email: perfectlyknottedshop@gmail.com.

This design is intended to be knit with 8-15% positive ease and knit to a cropped length. My sample is knit with about 10% positive ease and ~18” in length with ~14.5” sleeves. This pattern is designed in a format so that you can customize the measurements to fit your desired size/shape.

Finished Chest Circumference - Yardage (Sock) + Yardage (Suri/Lace)
30” - 775 + 775
34” - 850 + 850
38” - 940 + 940
42” - 1015 + 1015
46” - 1110 + 1110
50” - 1185 + 1185
54” - 1280 + 1280
58” - 1350 + 1350
62” - 1455 + 1455
66” - 1520 + 1520
70” - 1600 + 1600

Note, if you choose to knit with DK rather than the sock/suri combo, use the same yardage as the sock yarn alone.
