As a new knitter some years back, I noticed that my eyes were always drawn to the beauty of lace yarns, but fear of lace knitting caused me to quickly veer away! Sweet Viola was designed for those knitters, like me, who need to gently ease into knitting with delicate yarns. Lots of stockinette, worked from the top down, with a gentle lace pattern on the edge, produces a stunning star-shaped shawl, to be worn with pride.

Finished Measurements : 54” x 21.5” / 140 x 54.5 cm, after wet blocking.

Yarn : 630 yds / 576 m Lace / 2-ply yarn. Sample knit in Fantastic Knitting Zephyr Laceweight Wool-Silk Lace (50% Silk, 50% Merino), colour Pewter.

Needle Size : US size 2 / 3mm long circular needle for holding a large number of sts Notions : Tapestry needles, blocking wires.

Gauge : 28 sts x 40 rows = 4”(10cm) in Stockinette Stitch (gauge is not overly important; however, it will alter yardage and finished measurements)
