I had recently come across an amazing pattern by MamaInAStitch. It was her Cascading Kimono Cardigan & had to make one for myself.
I was so happy with how it turned out, but I felt like something was missing. I mean what is a girl to do with a beautiful sweater if she doesn’t have an equally beautiful beanie to complete her outfit, right?

So I reached out to Jessica (who is so sweet btw) to see if she had something awesome in the works for beanie of any kind to go with her cardigan, but she didn’t. I showed her the one that I had made for myself & asked if she would mind if I released it. So without further ado & of course her permission, I bring to you, my textured slouch.

Gauge really isn’t too much of an issue for this one, seeing that its a slouch. You can add or omit rows in any of the sections to make it more fitted or give it more of a slouch.

To make the band bigger or smaller to fit your need, just make sure your beginning chain is an even number +1 to comfortably fit around your head.

I started out with an 8mm for the first 2 sections, then switched to a 6.5mm for the DC section.

I used less than 1 skein of Mainstays Basic.
This yarn is slightly thinner than your average worsted. I made one with MSB & one with RHSS. You can see the slight size difference in the pictures

I made mine solid to match my sweater. You could use a different color for each section, stripe it out, make it your own! ;)
