“The words ‘Thank You’ in Japanese means to be grateful for our own existence.”

A few years ago, I saw the movie, “The Secret”. In that movie was a part where Dr. Masaru Emoto showed the effects of different positive and negative feelings on water. He infused water with different feelings and then crystallized it or you can say, made it into snowflakes.

After crystallizing it, he observed it under a microscope and took magnified pictures of it. Each positive feelings created different beautiful shapes which were unique to that feeling.

Each negative emotion created a unique distorted shaped crystal too but even from the looks of it, each were badly formed.

I have been so inspired to use that experiment myself since then. However since, my scientific equipments are limited, I resorted to the best equipments I have at hand, my crochet hook and yarn. :P

This is my first experiment in snowflakes. I have named it “Thank You Snowflake” as it looks like water crystallized with the feeling and emotion of the word, ‘Thank You“.

Since Snowflakes also are associated to winters, especially Christmas, I wish you happy holidays. Thank you for reading the story of my creation. :) <3

Instructions include how to make this applique into earrings and also into a decorative Christmas ornament.

Each applique made with embroidery floss needs 2-3 yards of thread.

Skill: Easy
