This is a vintage-style raglan cardigan for children aged approximately 1 to 11 years, chest size 20 - 30 inches. It will especially appeal to knitters who prefer to work in rows. The colour work is deceptively easy, consisting of a pattern repeat of just 4 stitches. This means that there is no need to carry floats along the back, helping to create a more even tension. I used Willow and Lark DK weight wool but you could substitute any good yarn of the same gauge. You will only require small amounts, less than 50g, of each of the three contrasting colours.
Beamish is an award winning museum of local life in the North of England where you can have your hair put up in a roll at the fifties hair dresser’s and learn to knit “down at the social”.
