These mittens are an ode to the local North Yorkshire legend of the Little Drummer Boy of Richmond Castle.

Richmond, a historic town by the Yorkshire Dales, is watched over by its 955-year-old Norman castle. In the 1800s, a legend arose about a secret tunnel to nearby Easby Abbey. A young Drummer Boy was sent into it, guided by the beat of his drum—until the sound mysteriously stopped in Easby Woods. Some say he found a hidden chamber where King Arthur’s knights sleep, and joined them in eternal slumber.
