My husband requested a simple cowl to wear while he rides his motorcycle. Taking his requests, I came up with this very easy and fast knit! It is perfect for a last-minute gift. The instructions below are for a longer cowl that is to be worn doubled over - as in the photos. But you could take this idea and make it larger or smaller depending on how you would like for it to fit.

Yarn
Approximately 165 yards/75 grams of worsted weight yarn. Sample was knit in Knit Picks Swish Worsted in the Cobblestone Heather Colorway – 100% Superwash Merino Wool 110 yards/50 grams.

Needles
US 8/5.0mm circular needles, 16” cable. You could also use double pointed needles or work this up in magic loop using a longer cabled circular.

Materials

  • Stitch Marker
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge
Unblocked – 4.25 stitches/6.5 rows per 1 inch.

Finished Size
Unblocked – Approximately 12” in length/14” in circumference - unstretched
