The Gaulus Bucket Hat
The Gaulus Hat pattern is written for five sizes, ranging from baby to adult. It is knitted in the round from the bottom up in stockinette with a Latvian braid accent that separates the brim from the body. There is little to no negative ease in The Gaulus Hat to allow for a comfortable summer fit. Instructions are included for reinforcing the brim if you wish, or you can leave it as it is. There is the option to complete in stripes (like the cream and mustard version in the images) and to vary the length of the brim and/or body. Lots of “how to’s” are included, as well as many video tutorials and a full schematic. The pattern has been thoroughly tested and tech edited.

It is important that you check your gauge to ensure your knits are the right size and that the recommended yarn amounts are adequate. You may need to adjust your gauge by changing your needle size accordingly. You may find it useful to check the WPI (wraps per inch) given below. Gauge is given in stockinette and knitted in the round using the recommended needle. Measurements should be taken unstretched and unblocked.
Aran/Worsted ~ 19 sts and 30 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 11
