The Hats Out - Speckled Beanie
Hi!
I hope you love this classic speckled beanie. The pattern is worked bottom up, in the round, beginning with 2-by-2 ribbing. After about 2 in. of ribbing, the rest of the hat is knit in stockinette stitch with a simple speckled chart. The decreases adhere to the speckled pattern.
This hat is super warm and such a fun knit. It is a wonderful pattern to begin practicing stranded color-work. The floats on the back must stay slightly loose, so don’t stress about knitting the color-work for ease.
Adult and Teen: The ribbing is knit super tight, on a size 5, 16-inch circular needle, but stretches out a lot, so it is wonderful for both of these sizes. Fits 20-24” heads very comfortably.
One skein of Lion Brand Fisherman’s wool can make about 4 of these hats! One skein of Manos Del Uruguay Silk blend will make at least two of these hats.
