I love the lighthouses madly. the light that guides in the midst of a storm is, after all, what we all are looking for today in our everyday big and little problems. The lighthouse keeper is the one who checks that the light is on. I imagine him wearing a warm cable-knit sweater, a symbol of love and difficult life. Today we are all lighthouse keepers and we all deserve our sweater.

Construction notes
This sweater has a classic look, created for women but I think is unisex and it can also be easily worn by a man. It features a nice cable pattern on the front, drop shoulders and a rounded neckline. It is knitted from the top down and seamless. Start with the back neck and work back and forth to the armholes. Then pick up the stitches for the front shoulders, work them separately and then cast on for the neck and join. Work the front to the armholes and then join to work the body in the round. Sleeves are worked in the round and top down, picking up the stitches along the armholes. Finish the sweater picking up the stitches for the neck and work iin ribbing.

Sizing guide
The Lighthouse keeper sweater features a slightly oversized construction, with a positive ease of approx. 20 cm / 8 inch at the bust. To choose your size, measure the circumference of your bust and add 20 cm / 8 inch. Choose the size that contains your measurement in the schematic.

4,5 mm needle (US 7) on almost a 80 cm (32”) cable for the body; 3,5 mm (US 4) for ribbing. Use a longer cable for magic loops or dpns for neck and wrist

GAUGE
18 sts x 26 rows with larger needles, blocked.
I recommend working a sample to verify the correct gauge. If your gauge with the given needles is incorrect, try using smaller or larger needles. It is important that the gauge is correct, otherwise the proportions of the sweater will be wrong.

Stitch markers cable needle, tapestry needle.
