This is a wrap very easy to wear in different ways.
You can wear it as a wrap/shawl or you can wear it around your neck as a scarf, the two tails (ends of the shawl) fall nicely on the front.

Thank you so much to the talented test knitters who tested The Mariner’s Daughter shawl

Construction
This wrap starts with an increases section right away, then the central body and the decreases section.
This is a parallelogram shaped shawl

It has a Corn on a Cob pattern at the end of the increases section and before starting the decreases section a row of simple but beautiful knitted flowers

Gauge
The gauge is taken on the big stitches in the stockinette stitch fabric.
You will be knitting with two different size needles at the same time.

Yarn
MC: Shibui Twig 3 skeins photographed in Mineral colourway
Shibui Silk Cloud 2 skeins in Mineral colourway ( this is optional )
CC: Shibui Twig 2 skeins in in Bone colourway

For MC 522 meters / 570 yards, for CC 350 meters / 380 yards. If you are adding mohair in the center panel you will need 600 meters /660 yards

Flowers The flowers are very easy to make and they are knitted.

Blocking suggestions
You can steam block your shawl, but I suggest that for the ends, increases and decreases, wet block it so the ends will look better.
You can soak it or you can pin your shawl giving the shape to it, then spray some water to the shawl and let it dry.
This step is very important to even up the Corn on the cob if you knitted it too tight.
You can also steam block your shawl as you go.

Measurements

Length from CO to BO 290 cm/114”
Width (from center wrap) 76.5cm/ 30”
If you like a shorter wrap, you can do so by knitting fewer rows of the Center panel.
