The Marl Tank is an updated cami with a slightly cropped, relaxed fit and cutaway armholes. Perfect for warmer days and layering between seasons, it’s designed to become a versatile favorite in your wardrobe.

The Marl Tank is worked top-down. First, the upper back is worked to shape the armholes. Next, stitches are picked up on either side for the front shoulders. Stitches are cast on in the middle to form the neckline. Later, the front is joined to the back in the round to knit the rest of the body. Finally, stitches are picked up and knitted on the neckline and the armholes to complete the ribbing. Instructions for optional bust darts are included.

Needles

Circular needles: 5 mm (US 8) / 60, 80, or 100 cm (24, 32 or 40 inches) for body.

Double-pointed needles: 4 mm (US 6) or use the magic loop technique for neckline and armholes

Materials

2 strands of sport weight cotton or cotton-blend yarn held together. Cover sample is knit in Drops Safran (160 m/175 yds per 50 g) in Denim Blue and Off White.

Any yarn may be used as long as you meet gauge. A thicker yarn will result in a denser fabric and a thinner yarn will create more drape.
