The Nutcracker Cowl has been designed for Through The Wardrobe Yarn Co’s 2023 Advent Calendar, in the theme of The Nutcracker. Using two different yarn bases, this is a fun exploration of colours and textures in the form of a cosy cowl!

Yarn: The sample used a total of 840yds / 768m of fingering weight yarn and 1260yds / 1152m of suri alpaca lace weight yarn.
The sample used 12 x 20g skeins of Fairytale Sock (87yds / 80m per 20g) (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon), and 12 x 20g skeins of Storybook Suri (131yds / 120m per 20g) (75% brushed baby suri alpaca, 25% silk).

Recommended Needle Size:
16” 3.25mm (US Size 3) circular needle, or appropriate size to obtain gauge. Another circular needle on a 16” cable or longer will be required for joining the ends of the cowl.

Gauge: 24 sts / 32 rows = 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch knitted in the round using fingering weight yarn.
