This shawl is inspired by a graffiti writing near my house, with its unusual pink color. The detail that caught my eye is the semicircle showing on the top-right corner with the play of small circles of color around it, making it looks like a shawl on the graffiti “shoulders”.
The Pink Arch is worked in stripes using three different colors and alternating stockinette and garter stitch with some brioche inserts for a textural effect.
The Pink Arch has a half-Pi shawl construction, doubling the number of stitches when the number of rows doubles.
Half Pi shawl are worked from the center out. Every time the number of rows doubles, the pattern doubles the number of stitches, by working (yo, k1) across the row. It’s a really easy and fun construction to work and to design.
