Cables are always a classic attribute to any knitting pattern, which is exactly what I was trying to accomplish with this scarf. I wanted something elegant, sophisticated – classic. The two ends come to a point which gives the scarf a unique touch rather than the common rectangular shape; the fringe accentuates the point even further. I named this design The Switchbacks Scarf as the winding cables remind me of hiking switchback trails up a mountain. This can be worn at any time during the colder months, from a walk through the snow to a classy gathering. I hope this becomes a go-to piece of knitwear for you. Happy knitting!
