This famous emblem is knit as four panels and then joined to form the front of the cushion. The design is fairly complex with every row patterned, but it is only an 8inch square at a time.

The back of the cushion is worked in seed (moss) stitch so is very easy.
I did not make an opening as I felt it looked neater, however it may be more practical to knit the back in two pieces with an overlap and buttons if making a gift of the completed cushion.

As a final touch add some Tartan ribbon and a button in the centre. Horn would be good.
