The Tides Baby Blanket is a ribbed stitch blanket with a cable cast on, a cable cast off and garter stitch borders. The blanket can be adjusted for size simply by adding the 16-stitch pattern repeat.

The blanket is perfect for baby and toddler, lots of tactile stitches to feel and hold on to as your little person grows.

The wavy ribs remind me of the tides and waves in the Gulf of Mexico, usually gentle. The reversible pattern makes it twice as nice. I used two skeins of Madeline Tosh’s Favorite Pair colorway and I alternated the colors (stripes) along with working the pattern.

Stitch pattern derived from Wendy Bernard’s The All Around Stitch Dictionary.

I would recommend a yarn with good stitch definition, warmth and lightness for baby.
