As a kid I had a story book about flower fairies and I loved the illustrations of the fairies in their colourful lustrous clothes. My favourite part was the fairies having a Ball on Midsummer Night. I imagine the fairies would like to wear these socks to the Ball since the stitch pattern looks like fairy wings. The socks were named after the queen of fairies in Shakespeare’s play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.

Treat your feet to these special lacy socks, perfect for summer. The socks are worked from the cuff down in the round and feature an allover cable and lace stitch pattern. They are worked with heel flap and gusset and the stitch pattern is continued onto the heel flap.

The pattern includes three sizes: Women’s S, M and L to fit leg circumference 18 (20.5, 23) cm 7 (8, 9)“. Leg length including heel results in 21 (22, 23) cm 8.25 (8.5, 9)” when knit as given in the pattern. Leg length and foot length are adjustable.

You can choose to work the cable and lace pattern either from the charts or the written instructions.

Material: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400 m (440 yds) per 100 g.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, cable needle, darning needle
