I’m always looking for a simple quick hat pattern that I can mindlessly knit while watching a show. I added in the bonus of using 3 strands held together so you can play with many interesting colour combos simply by switching out on of the fingering weight strands, with the added warmth of mohair. I have included instructions for 5 sizes so everyone in your family gets a warm hat for Christmas. Great pattern for beginner knitters who have a little knowledge reading patterns.

Size :
Toddler (Adult Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large)
Fits head circumference: 19 (20, 21, 22, 23) inches. 48 (50, 53, 55, 58) cm.

Materials :
Yarn: 1 skein FireFlyFibreArts, Fingering Tweed, 85% SW Merino, 15% NEP, 2ply, 438 yards/100g.
1 skein FireFlyFibreArts, Lace Downy, 72% Kid Mohair, 28% silk, single ply, 459 yards/50g.
Sample was knit in Berrylicious Tweed and Merlot Downy.

Needles:
3.75mm (US 5) 16” (40cm) circular needles
4.5 mm (US 7) 16” (40cm) circular needles.
4.5 mm (US 7) 6” (15cm) double point needles.

Notions:
8 stitch markers, measuring tape, tapestry needle.

Gauge:
22 sts x 30 rows in 4” (10cm).
2 strands of fingering weight yarn with one strand of lace weight is equal to DK- heavy DK weight yarn. Doing a WPI test will help with yarn gauge. If you are a loose knitter then I recommend going down a hat size.
