This square is part of the Traveling Afghan project started by Two of Wands and sponsored by Lion Brand. This is a collaborative project from January-December of 2020 where 25 designers in 7 different countries each make and attach 1 square to a physical afghan and send it off to the next designer. Each afghan square pattern is then published on each designer’s blog.

This is the pattern for the 7th square of the afghan.

About
I designed this square as a nod to my best-performing pattern of 2019 - the Rosebud Raglan. In this sweater, I used the griddle stitch which alternates single crochets and double crochets to create a textured fabric. I thought I would design my square with the same stitch! It’s fun to do, it’s easy, and it’s very beginner-friendly.

Yarn
This project uses Lion Brand Wool-Ease in the colour Natural Heather. You can sub any worsted weight yarn in place of Wool-Ease. 2 Squares can be made from 1 skein.

Purchase the Traveling Crochet Afghan as a Lion Brand Crochet Kit. This includes all of the yarn that you will need to finish this entire afghan, in the colour of your choice.

Find all the other squares by searching “Traveling Crochet Afghan” into the Ravelry search bar! All patterns are available on each designer’s blog for free, for anybody to make!
