PATTERN INFORMATION
Tucked Away Cowl is worked in a combination of rib and tuck stitch pattern that resembles horizontal cables. The cowl is worked sideways and when the desired length is reached, its two ends are grafted together. I made my sample in a light worsted/DK yarn, but you can use any yarn from fingering to worsted, and adjust the number of pattern repeats to obtain the desired size. Tutorials showing how to work tuck stitch and graft in rib pattern are included in the pattern.

Size
Circumference: 127 cm/50 in.
Width: 23.5 cm/9.25 in.
The size can be easily adjusted by working a different number of pattern repeats or using different weight yarn.

Gauge
Stockinette stitch: 20 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm/4 in.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but it will affect yardage and finished size if different from above.

Yarn
600 m/660 yds of DK or light worsted weight wool or wool-alpaca blend. Shown in Cascade 220 Superwash (100% wool, 200 m/220 yds per 100g, colour 1910 Summer Sky Heather).

For best results use smooth, plied yarn (made with 2 or more strands twisted together) in a solid colourway.
The pattern will also work with lighter weight yarn - fingering or sport - but you will need to adjust the gauge. Any changes in yarn weight will affect yardage needed.
