This terrific garment is perhaps not photographed to best advantage, but is a wonderful thing to make and wear. The ‘turret’ name applies because of its appealing hem-- you make 6 tabs in seed stitch, then join them all together at intervals, then continue in the round in alternating panels of seed (that most classy of stitch patterns) and st st. The neck is square, same on the back as the front, and bordered by seed stitch. The whole effect is simultaneously very historic and very modern, wearable anywhere in any of CTH’s worsted weights-- but perhaps best in the silky, luminous yarns.
