My first “Twinkle Twinkle” pattern consisted of the first 4 measures of the song “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”, and a bevy of stars and a moon. A customer, making blankets for twins, ask if I could create the next 4 bars so she could create a second similar but unique blanket. I was able to do that, but then the light bulb lit up.

Since the first 4 and third 4 measures of the song are the same, I decided to put the full 12 measures on one blanket. I replaced the moon and stars section of the original blanket, with just a row of six stars on the top and bottom of the blanket. I had enough yarn left over to create the little hat.

Knit in worsted weight yarn, the pattern consists only of knits and purls; no fancy knitting needed. Both written instructions and charts are included. I used almost 3 skeins of Berroco grey yarn and just over 2 skeins of Berroco red yarn for this project

The finished size is approximately 31” x 34”.
