I combined the colors of the Ukrainian flag with a pattern similar to Ukrainian folklore. The “Ukrainian Mittens” are part of the e-book “Ukrainian Trio”, consisting of a hat, mittens and a scarf.
The indicated amount of yarn is sufficient to knit also the “Ukrainian Hat”.

The “Ukrainian Mittens” are knitted in the round from 6 different colours of Spindrift by Jamieson’s of Shetland on double pointed needles.

The mittens fit a hand circumference between 18,5 cm – 21 cm. The model on the photos has a hand circumference of 18,5 cm.

Skill level: for experience knitters

Size: one size - 20 cm length x 9 cm width (size M)

To change the size, you can choose a smaller or larger needle size or use Jamieson´s of Shetlands Double Knitting (sport weight: 75 m/ 25g) instead of Spindrift.
The pattern is written for the yarn Spindrift.

Yarn: 150 g Jamieson´s of Shetland Spindrift (105 m/ 25 g) - 6 different colors (also enough for the “Ukrainian Hat”)

Needles: double pointed needles - size 3 mm/ UK 11/ US 2 ½

Techniques used: knit, purl, yarn over needle, knit 2 stitches together, stranded colorwork knitting with 2 colors at the same time, picking up stitches, knitting in the round on double pointed needles

The 9 page pattern contains photos, a knitting technique tutorial, knitting instructions with explanatory photos and clear colored charts separately for the left and the right mitten.
