The V-Formation Socks are knit in the round from the toe up using DK-weight yarn. This design features a repeating arrow lace design on the inseam similar to the V-formation Canada geese fly in when they migrate South for the winter. These socks have a Turkish heel (which has a heel flap and turn but no gusset), and instructions to make them ankle or crew socks, with a simple and comfortable ribbed cuff.

SIZES
Extra-Small (Small, Medium, Large, Extra-Large)/XS (S, M, L, XL) to fit foot circumference 6” (7”, 8”, 9”, 10”)/15 cm (18 cm, 20.5 cm, 23 cm, 25.5 cm), measured around the ball of the foot (the widest part). The length and height are adjustable. If you find that you are in-between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your socks to fit snug or the larger size if you like a loose fit.

YARN
Approximately 120-210 yards/110-190 meters DK weight yarn for Ankle Sock version (or two strands of fingering/sock-weight yarn held together with double the yardage), recommended in a blend of wool (for warmth) and nylon (for added strength and
durability).
Sample shown in Bramble Ridge DK 85/15 (246 yards/225 meters, 100 grams/3.53 oz) in the colourway Adventurine.

NEEDLES
US 4/3.5 mm needles (36” or longer circular for magic loop, DPNs, 9” circular, depending on which sock knitting method you like best), or needle size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
24 sts over 4”/10cm in stockinette knit in the round, after blocking (row gauge isn’t important for this pattern)
