Valdemar Sejr (sejr is the Danish word for victory) was born in 1170 and king of Denmark from 1202 until his death in 1241.

Valdemar Sejr is a cardigan knitted back and forth from the bottom edge and up with a nice classic 2-color pattern on the front and stockinette stitch on the back. The front of the cardigan has a V shaped neckline as well as buttons. This pattern is made for at yarn with a gauge of 28 stitches per 10 centimeters (stockinette stitch), i.e. a yardage of approximately 200 meters per 50 grams..

Pattern includes directions for knitting a size 3 months; 6/9 months; 12/18 months; 2 years; 3 years and 4 years with chest width 44 (48, 52, 56, 62, 68) centimeters.

This pattern is written for a knitter with medium skills, a knitter who is able to knit back and forth in 2-color stranded knitting and knows how to follow written instructions and how to pick up stitches and work increases, decreases and button holes.

Materials: yarn, buttons, knitting needles and stitch markers.
