This fun hat knits up fast and lets you wear your ponytail, too. Just the thing to set your heart aglow for Valentine’s Day (but still wear your ponytail the way you want!)

A button panel allows you to wear your ponytail high, low, or in between and still keep your head warm and cozy. Undo one button wherever you position your ponytail. Also works for a “messy bun” - just undo two buttons instead of one.

Bonus: The matching pattern for kids is included as a separate file with the purchase of the adult-sized hat.

Difficulty: Beginner. This is worked flat in one piece using just knit and purl stitches. No need to pick up stitches for the button band; it’s worked right along with the rest of the hat.
The pattern has row-by-row instructions with lots of tips to help beginners along; it’s a good project for someone new to color changes.

Yarn selection: You only need about 100 - 110 yards of aran weight yarn (gauge 18 sts to 4”/ 10 cm) for the main color, and less than 5 yards of the contrast color. Solid or semisolid colors will allow the colorwork pattern to be most noticeable.

Pattern support: Designer email is included in the pattern in case you run into questions.
