Charts only for the colourwork.

Suggested yarn: Worsted in two colours, sample yarn: Alize Cashmira

Notions: 3.0 mm (US 2.5) 16”/40 cm circular needle or DPNs, 3.5 mm (US 4) 16”/40 cm circular needle or DPNs, optional: pompom maker.

Gauge: 20 sts & 30 rows in 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in stockinette stitch.
Stranded colourwork should have the same gauge as above. Most knitters work at a tighter colourwork, so I suggest working that part with larger needles - for example 3.5 mm (US 4). If you are not sure – use the larger needles.

Sizes:
S – to fit a head circumference of 38-44 cm / 15-17.25’’ MC:15-25 g CC: 15-25 g
M – to fit a head circumference of 44-50 cm / 17.25-19.75’’ 44 MC: 18-56 g CC: 18-56 g
L – to fit a head circumference of 50-56 cm /19.75-22’’ MC: 21-70 g CC: 21-70 g

Colour variations:
Stranded colourwork gives you lots of options to vary the colours, even if the pattern is written for two colours. The pattern as written will make a hat where the brim and the crown are the same colour as the background for the chart. My suggestions for other options:

1. Brim, and Increase and the next two rnds in CC, the charts as given, the rnds after charts and crown in CC.

2. Brim, and Increase in MC, the next two rnds in CC, the charts as given, the rnds after charts and crown in CC.

3. Brim, and Increase in MC, the next two rnds in CC, the charts as given, the next 2 rnds after charts in CC, the rest of the rnds after charts in MC, crown in MC.
