Varya-socks feature easy going cables resulting in warm, squishy fabric. The pattern has instructions for size 66 and 74 stitches, both cuff down and toe up with written and charted instructions. As the cables pull in the fabric, the gusset is longer than normally to avoid the ankle part to be too tight.

The pattern is written both cuff down and toe up for magic loop, but can easily be modified for double pointed needles.

Yarn:

100 g of fingering weight yarn, app. 420 m (440 yds)/100g.

The sample socks were knitted with Regia 4-ply, 210m/230 yds per 50g. One sock (66 sts) used app. 43 g, leg 18 cm/8” including cuff.

Needles etc:

2.25-2.75 mm/ US 1-2 circular needle, 80 cm/ 32” or longer, cable needle, marker, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge:

34 sts x 48 rows = 10 x 10 cm/ 4” x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking.
