You are welcome to knit Vest End Girl with a fingering or lace weigth yarn and wear it as a vest or a top.

Vest End Girl is knitted top down with short row shaping and v-neck. The cable band is beginner friendly. A tutorial for knitting the cables without a cable needle is given in this pattern.

Gauge 28 sts = 10 cm/4” with US4/3.5mm needle or any needle that gives you a proper gauge
