Vintage Modern is a triangle shawl worked sideways with a simple dc body and an intricate fan edging that is created as you go. Work the increase portion until you have used up 50% of your yarn (and completed a full or half fan) and decrease to the end. Beads may be added to the picots on the edging. The pattern was written using 475 yards of fingering/sock weight yarn and a size G hook. It can be made with any weight of yarn by changing the hook size to suit the yarn. The fan edging is a portion of a wider lace edging that was originally published in 1895. The 6 page pattern has written instructions and two crochet charts.
