To raise awareness of Lupus Awareness Month, this pattern (and the yarn color) is a great way to help support a marginalized community.
It was a privilege to design this hat, with cables reminiscent of a butterfly, in the great worsted staple, Germantown, from Kelbourne Woolens.

The mission of the Lupus Foundation of America, Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter is to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy. This is accomplished by focusing on achieving the following disease-specific outcomes:
Reducing time to diagnosis.
Ensuring people with lupus have an arsenal of safe and effective treatments.
Expanding direct services and increase access to treatment.
