What is a Vivarium? A Victorian-era word for glass butterfly house, or conservatory, I was inspired by the vivarium reconstruction on the grounds where Veronica (an adventure-seeking lepidopterist - or butterfly expert) and Stoker live in the Veronica Speedwell mystery book series.

Materials:
• 1 Hank each color Spun Right Round Classic Sock (3.5 oz/100 g ea approx. 438 yds/401 m, 100% superwash merino) in Reaper’s Rags (A, black, 200 yds used) and Counting Pennies (B, orange, 155yds used)
• Size US 2 (2.75 mm) 24” Circular Knitting Needle
• Size US 4 (3.5 mm) 24” Circular Knitting Needle
• Stitch Markers
• Tapestry Needle

Cowl is worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. The garter edgings are worked on smaller circular needles, with the stranded colorwork portion worked on larger circular needles.
