It’s summer and everyone is playing in the water. My neighbors have a pool, which they seem to re-discover every day when it is hot outside! I would rather be in Galveston, of course ~ taking in the sea air, and strolling along The Strand that has shops, restaurants, and a vintage ice cream parlor. I have a new duo of shawls, Water Play ~ one is a bias knit design for those who love pools ~ Waterpark, and the other is a right triangle for those who love beach towns ~The Strand.

For every level of knitter, garter stitch and eyelets make for lots of water droplets in this drapey, airy shawl. Instructions are provided for placing the mesh section three ways (see the photos). The reversible design is worked either from charts or the full written instructions. Use any yarn weight up to DK, adjusting your yarn requirements accordingly. Note: stitches are a bit loose for this yarn weight, therefore the gauge noted is approximate; exact gauge is not critical to the end results for this pattern

Materials used for sample (weighs 72g):
Fiberlady Mousou ~ 1 skein
a row counter is very helpful for this pattern
