If the pavement down the rabbit hole was crocheted, it would be with this stitch pattern. Alice would love this simple scarf with a checkers pattern and an illusion of waves…
This is the perfect project for last minute gifts to the young smart croud.

This pattern is suitable for beginners. The only special stitch used here is a variation of the single crochet, thoroughly detailed and pictured in the pattern, and it is so simple you will master in no time… if you don’t use it already!

Use any yarn you like. The scarf displayed above used 2 skeins (about 100g) of “Miss Helen” colour ‘ficelle’ (French for ‘twine’), 100% acrylic, (50g/130 m), sport weight (wrap per in : 13). Use wool or anything you fancy. Slick, smooth yarns are the best choice, silky ribbon will look great. Fantasy yarns are not advised for they will hide the stitches wavy effect. Solid colours are best.

Use a crochet hook half size bigger than the needle size written on the skein :
“Miss Helen” is to be used with n°3,5 to 4 knitting needles => I used a 4,5 mm crochet hook.
