Wheely hat is designed to be a close fitting beanie perfect for keeping your head warm while out for your evening walk or for a cosy layer between your head and bicycle helmet.
The ever widening rib of the crown and body of the hat provide a little stretch over the crown for a snug fit.

Wheely hat is knit from the top, beginning with the magic circle cast on. You may substitute your preferred cast on for a small number of stitches in the round.

The simplicity of the pattern is equally perfect for plain colours, kettle dyes or hand painted yarns.

Actual size of the unstretched beanie at the lower band:
Circumference at band – 45, 50, 55, 60 cm or 18, 20, 22, 24 inches
Length as written is 18, 19, 21, 24 cm or 7, 7.5, 8.5, 9.5 inches

All sizes are suitable for less than 50g of 4ply/fingering weight yarn.
Size large uses around 35g of 4 ply yarn making it a perfect little project for using up some of your sock leftovers.

Pattern has full written instructions only.

The pattern works equally well for DPN’s and circulars so you choose your favourite style to work with.

The gauge will impact, not just your yarn requirement but also the fit of the hat.

The pattern has been successfully test knit.
