“This sock design has two sets of directions, one for toe-to-cuff knitting, and one for cuff-to-toe knitting,” explains Glowacki. “For fun, you can knit one sock using each set of directions, to see how the pattern stitches look the same knitted in either direction. There are two patterns: one with a lacy center, and one with a ribbed center. If you want more ‘classic’ or less ‘girly’ socks, work the second pattern in place of the first.” A great exercise for sock fans, with very comprehensive instructions for both styles of knitting. Both toes and heels use short rows and wraps.
