Willa the Watering Can is the perfect addition to your collection of indoor plants. Cute, kawaii style but she may not be as helpful as she intends. Forever positive and bringing smiles though, just check out that little spout!

Willa is an easy amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Willa is approx. 9cm tall x 12cm wide.

You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).

You will need:

  • 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
  • 8ply yarns/DK – 50g BLUE, less than 50g LIGHT BLUE & PINK
  • BLACK and WHITE embroidery thread or 4ply yarn
  • A pair of 8mm safety eyes
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

  • Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round, unless otherwise stated.
  • A yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton.
  • Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
  • I’ve used Hello Knitting Yarn (DK Cotton) in the following colours: o BLUE = 147 o LIGHT BLUE = 146 o PINK = 112
  • I have used plastic safety eyes for this pattern but you may choose to embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
