Winter Sage is that timeless raglan you reach for again and again whether you are planning for an evening out with friends or cozying up at home with tea and a good book. A scooped neckline creates an elegant silhouette and an assortment of cables adorn the center front.

NOTES
Design: Winter Sage is a raglan pullover with a scooped neckline. A wide panel of cables is worked across the center front, and single cables accentuate each raglan seam. The sleeves are full-length and feature a classic tapered fit.

Construction: This sweater is worked from the top down. The neck is initially knit flat to create the scooped front neck shaping and then joined to work in the round for the remainder of the body. Once the upper body is finished, sleeve stitches are put on hold, and the lower body is completed. Stitches are returned to the needles, and the sleeves are worked in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up to work the neckband.

Raglan Shaping: The yoke shaping in this sweater is achieved by working increases along the raglan lines at two shaping rates: one shaping rate for the body and another for the sleeve caps. This requires more attention as you follow several instructions simultaneously to shape the neck, make raglan increases, and work cable patterns. Take the time to look over the pattern before getting started. The shaping method is not as complicated as it might seem, and the result will be a perfect-fitting garment with little to no bulk at the underarms.

Stitch Patterns: Some stitch patterns are only charted, so you should be confident in your chart reading skills—or be open to learning!
