This featherlight crescent in two sizes (petite/tall), begins with a deep lace hem and has short rows through the shoulder area that shape it into a graceful curve. Snowflake and fir tree motifs sweep across its outer circumference while a tumble of garter stitch texture ensures a lovely warmth around the throat and shoulders.

Despite its visual complexity, the lace is quite simple and entertaining to work, translating well in tonal variegated yarns. The final result is a stunning composition that offers a warm and versatile layer throughout the winter season.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and drape.

Yarn used in sample: Cormo Lace (100% Cormo wool, natural white, 2 ply worsted-spun)

Matching Motifs: Snowflakes in Cedarwoods, Whispering Pines, Snow on Cedars Mitts

Tip: the Snow on Cedars Mitts are the perfect accessory to pair with the Winterwood shawl — when using Cormo Lace you can knit both patterns using one skein!
