About
The Wolseley Cowl is a chunky, textured cowl featuring alternating rows of bobbles for a fun, evenly-distributed, all-over texture. Intended to be a statement piece for any fall wardrobe, this design is equal parts chic and eccentric. Wear it over your favourite fall outfit for a whimsical pop or tuck it inside your winter coat for maximum warmth.

The bobble rows are crocheted with the wrong-side facing you as you work them; you’ll love watching the bobbles pop out on the right-side of your work! With a simple 4-row repeat, you’ll memorize this pattern in no time. This fun stitch pattern combined with a chunky yarn makes for a quick design that you can whip out in one sitting. This pattern is great for selling at craft shows or giving as gifts!

You can use any bulky weight (category 5) or super bulky weight (category 6) yarn to create your own Wolseley Cowl! For a different look, try using a lighter yarn weight and modifying the foundation chain by working any multiple of 6 until reaching your desired circumference!

MATERIALS

Yarn: Bulky —Knit Picks/WeCrochet Biggo in Bare colourway

  • 50% Superwash Merino, 50% Nylon
  • 110 yds 91 m per 3.5-oz 100-g skein
  • Find this yarn on crochet.com or visit yarnsub.com to find comparable substitutes.

Yarn Substitution Notes: Substitute WeCrochet Biggo with any similar, bulky weight yarn. Most fibers should work fine in place of Biggo.

A note on yarn weight: You can also choose a totally different yarn weight altogether by working a beginning foundation chain in any multiple of 6 until reaching your desired circumference, and then following the pattern as written.

Yardage: 3 hanks of Biggo or 242 yds (222 m) of a similar bulky weight yarn.

Hook: Size U.S. K/10½ (6.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle
