Twisted stitches twine around lace and wend their way across a purl foundation into a lovely crescent shaped shawl called Worcester. Worcester begins with a lacey crochet chain cast-on, followed by traveling twisted stitches and lace that create an illusion of swirling around the border of the shawlette.

The traveling stitches show to best advantage with a solid or semi-solid color yarn with low contrast. The knitting is of medium difficulty (not too easy, not too hard), and uses a combination of cables and lace. The pattern is both charted and written. Worcester measures 25.5” deep at the center and 61”, blocked to a crescent shape. Worcester is written for DK weight yarn and also includes instructions for increasing the size of the shawl.
