Wrapped in Memories is inspired by the sweaters my mom knit for me when I was growing up. She knit the same sweater in multiple sizes as I was growing – and I loved them all!

It has a beautiful colorwork section on the body, and a very simple construction, just like my childhood sweaters.

It is worked top-down, so you can try it on as you’re knitting, and easily adjust length of body and sleeves. You work it flat until you’re past the armholes, and then you join to work in the round. The sleeves are also worked top-down; you pick up stitches around the armhole and work your way down, gradually decreasing until you reach the ribbing.

Chest circumference: 82-93-103,5 (114,5-125-136) 147-158 cm / 32.3-36.6-40.75 (45-49.2-53.5) 57.9-62.2 inches
Body length: 48-48-48 (50-50-50) 51-51 cm / 18.9-18.9-18.9 (19.7-19.7-19.7) 20.1-20.1 inches

Fit
Wrapped in Memories is designed to be worn with 0-10 cm / 0-4 inches ease. Body and sleeve length are easily adjustable, just remember that changing the length will affect yardage!
This sweater is worked top down. First you knit the shoulders, then front and back are worked separately, until the body is joined to be worked in the round. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are then worked top down.

Suggested needles
3.75 (US5) circular 60 or 80 cm / 24 or 31 inches, using magic loop where needed.
3.25 mm (US3) circular 60 or 80 cm / 24 or 31 inches, using magic loop where needed.

Gauge
22 stitches x 29 rows/rounds in stockinette stitch on larger needle = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches)

Note: Needle size is just a suggestion. Adjust needle size if needed to obtain gauge! Pay extra attention to your gauge when working flat – you may need to go down a needle size on the purl rows, as many knitters will have a looser gauge when purling compared to knitting. Also be mindful of gauge when doing the colorwork section, where many knitters tend to get a tighter gauge. The same thing can happen in small circumference knitting (on sleeves). If this happens to you, you will have to up a needle size!
