When you buy this pattern with the Wrought Iron Hat, you will get both patterns for $7.50 (prior purchases included).

Inspired by decorative window grates in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, this cowl uses twisted stitches and two-stitch cables to create a raised pattern. Solid or tonal yarns will work best to show off the pattern. The pattern can be knit in one strand of sport weight yarn or lace weight yarn held double—just like the coordinating Wrought Iron Hat!

This pattern is fully charted and written.

Finished Size: approx. 11” (28 cm) across and 12” (30 cm) tall when laid flat

Materials:
• Sport weight yarn (single strand), such as Manos Del Uruguay Serena, 300 yds (274 m), or
Laceweight yarn (held double) such as Malabrigo Lace, 600 yds (548 m)
• US Size 4 (3.5 mm) 16” (41 cm)
• Stitch markers
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle

Gauge: 24 sts & 9 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st before blocking—This creates a flexible fabric.
