In the shawl Yarn Festival Shawl, I wanted to capture the emotions that are experienced when participating in a wool fair as an exhibitor.
From the tranquility of the previous months, the planning, the intense work between pots and dyes, the assembly of the stand and finally the maximum emotion during the festival where we can embrace the knitters.
The shawl is designed to be knitted with only one skein of fingering weight yarn and its construction is simple and easy to memorize. It is ideal to start knitting in the knitting areas of any wool festival.
It starts at one end and, thanks to the ratio of increases and decreases, it takes on the shape of a boomerang.
The whole body of the shawl is knitted with combinations of stockinette and garter stitch. Finally comes the “Festival” section, the lace edge that gives the magic touch to this shawl. This lace edge is knitted perpendicular to the body of the shawl and, thanks to the fact that it consists of only 6 rows, it is also easy to memorize.

437 yards - 400m of fingering weight yarn. For the sampler has been used 1 skein of Aitana Villa Yarns Lise (50% merino superwash, 50% silk; 437 yards - 400m/100g) in color Madrid23.

Needles and other notions
● US8 (5 mm) needles, or the necessary size to obtain gauge, with 16” (40 cm) cable. You can use straight needles.
● 2 markers.
● Tapestry needle to wave in ends.
● Pins and blocking mats.

Gauge

● 18 sts x 23 rows in 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch worked flat after blocking.

Sobre el patrón

En el chal Yarn Festival Shawl he querido plasmar las emociones que se viven al participar en una feria de lanas como expositora. Desde la tranquilidad de los meses previos, la planificación, el trabajo intenso entre ollas y tintes, el montaje del stand y finalmente la emoción máxima durante el festival dónde podemos abrazar a las tejedoras.
El chal está pensado para poderlo tejer con una sola madeja y su construcción es sencilla y fácil de memorizar. Ideal para empezar a tejer en las zonas habilitadas de cualquier festival lanero.
Se empieza a tejer por una punta y, gracias al ratio de aumentos y disminuciones, va adquiriendo forma de boomerang. Todo el cuerpo del chal se teje con combinaciones de punto jersey y punto bobo. Finalmente llega la sección “Festival”, el calado que le da el toque mágico a este chal. Un calado que se teje en perpendicular al cuerpo del chal y que, gracias a que solo consta de 6 pasadas, también es fácilmente memorizable.

Agujas y otros materiales
● Agujas de 5 mm o del tamaño necesario para obtener la tensión, con cable de 40cm. Se puede tejer con agujas rectas.
● 2 marcadores.
● Aguja lanera para esconder los cabos.
● Alfileres y bases para el bloqueo.

Tensión

● 18 ptos x 23 pdas in 10 cm x 10 cm en punto jersey, tejido en plano, después de bloquear.
