The five playful throws are all created with easy granny squares and granny square variations; some “grannies” are worked in two colors, giving them the appearance of quilters’ half-square triangles. A full-color assembly diagram for each afghan makes putting all the patchwork ‘blocks’ together a snap. The five crochet designs by Annis Clapp include: Butterfly Patch; Big Wheels (trucks); Starlight Starbright; Twirly Birds; and Ships at Sea. All are Easy skill level. Butterfly Patch is made using lightweight yarn and a size G hook; the others use medium weight yarn and a size H hook.
