I started to crochet this scarf in a worsted weight yarn, and while I loved the stitch and the way the fabric came out, it was too bulky for a scarf. I loved this pattern way more when I crocheted it in a Sport weight (the Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light was perfect) with a 3.75 mm hook. It hooked up like butter (warning, though: the waffle stitch is a bit of a yarn pig), and the fabric is really cute.

Note for next time: since I was working in a finer gauge, I chained 52 (2 x the 26 called for by the pattern) to begin this scarf.
